Justice of the Peace – Hays County, Precinct 5
Rooted in Service. Driven by Justice. Inspired by Community.
Judge Sandra Bryant is a passionate public servant, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Hays County residents. Elected in 2022, she brings over two decades of leadership, mentorship, and community advocacy to the bench — and she’s just getting started.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and a lifelong advocate for youth and families, Judge Bryant blends compassion with accountability in every decision she makes. Her courtroom handles everything from evictions and small claims to juvenile and criminal matters, and she remains on-call 24/7 to conduct inquests in a county without a medical examiner.

"I believe in second chances—accountability, strong communities, and justice that serves the people."

BEYOND THE BENCH,
IN THE COMMUNITY

Delivering Results for a Growing Community
As your Justice of the Peace for Precinct 5, I’ve worked hard to ensure our justice system keeps pace with the rapid growth in Hays County. I successfully championed work-life balance by cross-training court staff to improve efficiency and provide consistent service during absences. I advocated salary increases for court staff, recognizing their essential role in delivering timely and effective service to the public.
I also took our concerns directly to the Commissioners Court to advocate for the appointment of an additional judge to meet the growing demands on our courts. In addition, I’ve worked to reduce costs by promoting alternative resources for autopsy reports — helping to shorten wait times and ease the burden on both families and the county. My commitment remains clear: to build a system that is fair, accessible, and prepared to serve every resident — today and in the future.

“I’ve served with honor, and I’m running to continue the work we’ve started - together.”
- Judge Sandra Bryant

Justice is more than what happens in the courtroom — it’s about prevention, education, and support.
That’s why I’ve championed and overseen juvenile diversion initiatives that give youth second chances and positive alternatives. I’ve supported evidence-based programs like:
-
Rezilient Kidz: Raising Highly Capable Kids– equipping families with tools to build stronger homes.
-
Botvin LifeSkills Training – teaching students critical decision-making and life-management skills.
-
Juvenile Diversion Coordination – helping young people avoid deeper involvement in the justice system and get back on track (HB 3186) but still hold them accountable.
-
Mentored students across Hays County, investing in youth development and future leadership.
-
Provided resources to the community, including free notary services, court education, and outreach programs.
These programs create real change by addressing issues at the root and investing in stronger families, safer communities, and brighter futures. With your continued support, we can build on this momentum and keep delivering compassionate, community-centered justice for every resident of Hays County.
